Give It Back to God
I believe that it was in November of 2006 that my brother James introduced me to Heavens Word Chat at New Beginnings Ministry. There I met Rev. Suzanne. She is a great encourager and very easy for me to talk with. One night while we were talking about my financial situation, she asked me if I pay tithes and I told her no.
Let’s go back a little bit in time. I was raised in a Christian home so I knew that you are supposed to pay tithes and give back to God what is His.
When I explained to Rev that we have no church here that we want to attend, she welcomed me to become a member of NBM and as such I now had a church to pay tithes to. In Jan of 2007, I sent in the first tithe check and Praise the Lord the blessings began rolling in!
In February of 2007, my husband, Herbert, and I were somewhat short on our bill money, but when I paid my tithes I asked God to take care of my bills that month. I needed $27.95 to pay on something and a few days later my husband received a check for $28.00 from an over payment on his Medicare premiums.
In November of 2005 I had to quit my job due to back surgery and am no longer able to work. In December of 2005 I applied for Medicaid and Social Security Disability. In April of 2007 I had a state hearing as to whether I would get Medicaid or not. We all prayed and God gave it to me.
In August of 2007 we were able to pay off our home and that was a huge blessing from God. This house needed a lot of work and we knew it was going to be too costly for us to try making the repairs, so we applied for a loan to purchase a new mobile home. In May of 2007 we were approved by the bank.
During this time God began working with Herbert and he truly turned his life over to Him. This was the biggest blessing we could have received.
In December of 2008 we moved into our new home along with a family from down the street that had no electricity. My brother, James, hooked our house to a generator so that we could cook and stay warm.
I was due for a State Court hearing for my Social Security Disability in May of this year. In February I received a notice saying I had been approved and would begin receiving benefits. Praise the Lord, I received the back pay in March of this year and after paying my tithes and offerings to New Beginnings Ministry, I was blessed with a new car.
Along with Gods many other blessings, He helped us move the other family out of our home and into a place of their own.
God has done so much in our lives. He also helps in controlling the pain in my back, even making it go away at times when I just don't think I can take any more.
Update: In June of this year, God deposited almost $800.00 in our account to pay the bills after I made a huge mistake in our checkbook. A couple weeks ago I found $100.00 in my change purse that I had no idea was there. I believe it was the grace of God that gave it to me because I desperately needed it.
God has been Awesome to us and I believe it is because we have been faithful in paying our tithes by giving back one tenth of our increase monthly.
